Away trip turns fatal

Seven PAOK fans lost their lives and three others were injured in a serious multi-vehicle accident that occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday near Timișoara, Romania.

Most of the victims were younger than 30 and were reportedly traveling from Greece to France to attend Thursday’s Europa League fixture between PAOK and Lyon.

According to initial information, a black minivan veered into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with an oncoming truck. The crash ultimately involved four vehicles in total: the minivan, a truck, a tanker transporting alcohol, and a passenger car.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision.
