UEL: 9 injured after clashes in Rome

The buildup to the Europa League match between Lazio and Real Sociedad was marred by serious violence in Rome. On the eve of the game, a group of 80 Lazio ultras attacked a pub on Via Leonina, where 70 Real Sociedad fans were gathered, leading to further clashes in the alleys of the Monti district, reports la Repubblica.

Nine Basque supporters were injured, three of whom suffered stab wounds. One remains hospitalized in serious condition but is out of life-threatening danger. Authorities seized objects used in the attack at the scene, intensifying investigations into the incident.
