Germany: MSV Duisburg relegated to 4th league

Angry MSV Duisburg fans interrupted game against Erzgebirge Aue.

With the score at 2:2 (0:1) a few minutes before the end of regular time, a gate in the home tribune suddenly opened and masked Duisburg ultras stormed int pitch and set off smoke bombs, which flew in the direction of the police and security forces. The police were able to force the fans back into the block with the help of irritant gas.

The match was not resumed even after a 30-minute interruption due to the heated atmosphere.

Former Bundesliga club Duisburg had already been relegated to the fourth division before the penultimate matchday. MSV fans had already stormed the pitch the previous week during the 3-5 loss in Lübeck.
